Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 12, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Tavara ("we," "our," or "us"). Tavara is a golf social networking application that connects golfers, facilitates game organization, and fosters golf communities. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App").
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), date of birth (optional), and profile photo (optional). If you sign in with Apple, we receive only the information you choose to share.
Profile Information
You may provide additional information such as your golf handicap, home course, player type, location, availability, and company/work details for corporate tournament features. All profile fields beyond email are optional.
GHIN Data
The App may offer the ability to link your GHIN (Golf Handicap Information Network) account. If this feature is available and you choose to link your account, we securely store encrypted credentials to retrieve and display your official handicap index. You can unlink your GHIN account at any time from your profile settings.
Content You Create
We store posts, photos, videos, comments, scores, and other content you create within the App. This includes scorecard data, tournament results, social feed posts, and live wall media.
Bluetooth Data
With your permission, the App uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to discover nearby Tavara users on the golf course. We broadcast a randomized, non-identifying token that is only meaningful within the App. No personal data is transmitted over Bluetooth. You can disable Bluetooth broadcasting at any time.
Camera and Photos
With your permission, the App accesses your device camera to capture photos and videos for sharing on your social feed, group galleries, and tournament live walls. Media you capture is uploaded to our secure cloud storage.
Push Notifications
With your permission, the App may send push notifications for tournament updates, teemate requests, game invitations, and social interactions. Device tokens are stored securely to deliver notifications. You can manage notification permissions in your device settings at any time.
Location Data
We do not continuously track your location. Location data may be used transiently when you search for nearby golf courses. Course search results may be temporarily cached to improve performance, but your precise GPS coordinates are not permanently stored on our servers.
Usage Data
We may collect anonymous usage analytics to improve app performance and reliability. This may include crash reports, app version, and device type. We use Sentry for error monitoring, which may capture technical error context (never personal content).
3. How We Use Your Information
Provide and maintain the App's core features (social feed, tournaments, scorecards, player discovery)
Display your profile to other users you connect with
Send notifications about activity relevant to you
Facilitate tournament management, scoring, and leaderboards
Generate tournament montage videos from content you or other participants share
Sync your GHIN handicap if you choose to link your account
Improve app performance and fix technical issues
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these limited cases:
With other users: Your profile, posts, scores, and tournament data are visible to users you connect with or participate in tournaments with, based on the App's privacy settings.
Service providers: We use Supabase (database and authentication), Shotstack (video rendering), and Sentry (error monitoring) to operate the App. These providers process data on our behalf under strict data protection agreements.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted database storage, secure authentication, and Row Level Security policies that ensure users can only access data they are authorized to see. GHIN credentials are encrypted at rest. All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Access and update: You can view and edit your profile information at any time through the App.
Delete your account: You can request account deletion by contacting us. We will delete your account and associated data within 30 days.
Unlink GHIN: You can unlink your GHIN account at any time from your profile settings.

Manage notifications: You can enable or disable push notifications in your device settings.
Withdraw consent: You can revoke camera, Bluetooth, or notification permissions through your device settings at any time.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it.
8. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services:
